Listening has an important place in learning as it is one of the four major skills in language acquisition. It provides input for the learners and research has shown that when we communicate, we spend around 40-50% of our time listening, 25-30% speaking. No one can learn a language without listening and speaking, so educators and parents should leverage podcasts as learning tools. Podcasts not only provide learners an excellent platform to increase comprehension skills and stimulate critical thinking skills, students can develop their own podcasting to improve on speaking skills as well.
